SCULFORT Underfloor Wheel Lathe
The SCULFORT Underfloor Wheel Lathe is installed in a pit underneath the tracks, which allows machining the trains’ wheels easily without having to dismount them. It can re-profile the worn or scratched wheel treads and rims, whether it is a locomotive, passenger car, flatbed trailer, maintenance vehicle, high-speed rail, subway, tram, or other rail vehicles.

The SCULFORT Underfloor Wheel Lathe maintenance can be done quickly and efficiently, as it eliminates the need to remove the wheels from the train. With fast maintenance, it allows the train to be returned to service as quickly as possible.
It is critical that the worn and damaged wheels can be restored before it lead to derailments and accidents or may cause excessive noise and vibration, making the train ride uncomfortable for passengers. The underfloor wheel lathes can restore wheel profiles to their original condition and remove flat spots.
The computerized control system is easy to operate; the CNC system is convenient for operation, maintenance, and diagnosis. The CNC can calculate the new wheel dimensions with minimum machining. Once it finishes the cycle, the CNC delivers a report by gathering all the information for the operator.
