The RR-16 produces high production, high manufacturing quality, and high accuracy when it grinds; once finished, it meets tight tolerances. There is minimum environmental impact as the machine is equipped with water-cooled spark deflectors, efficient dust collection, and a high-pressure water spraying system. 

It enhanced safety for the operators by providing longer stone life, real-time display of rail cross-section, and remote-controlled washing of the switch base plate, allowing minimal presence of operators on the track. 

There is computerized assistance that helps profile the target and achieve minimum metal removal.
