The Mini-8 can operate in multiple different environments, such as conventional railways, heavy-haul railroads, high speed lines, regional lines, underground railways, tramways, open tracks, tunnels, switches, and level crossings.
Not only can it remove minor and medium rail defects such as wheel burns, but it can also prevent defects from forming. The Mini-8 travels up to 80 km/h, which allows it to be anywhere at any time to fix defects without having to close tracks down or prepare tracks in advance. After grinding, rails can be used immediately for normal railway operations.
When the rail surface starts to form corrugations, more noise is generated, which could lead to a high-pitched squealing noise for passengers. To prevent the rail surface from becoming rough, the Mini-8 helps grind the track to become smooth again, which lowers the noise level and removes vibration, resulting in quieter rail.
